From the Digital Portrait Project: Jean Michel Basquiat.
In this series, I use some of the clothing or accessories and mash up the Original Abstracts into them.
Whilst watching the Andy Warhol diaries, I came across Jean Michel Basquiat. A true visionary. He started off with street art then then big time post modern - neo expressionism era. He painted imagery and text. Abstraction, figurative, mythical themes with a very contemporary eye.
He died young at the age of 27 of an accidental drug overdose.
